Glen Lawrence

Glenn is an imaginative and knowledgeable educator who loves to help students design and create. Professionally, Glenn has worked as an industrial designer in both Australia and China, and has over 10 years of experience as a TAS teacher in NSW secondary schools. He is passionate about developing visual thinking skills in learners, to enhance STEAM innovation in the classroom and beyond. His real-world experience and love for STEAM based learning opportunities has allowed Glenn to lead enrichment programs and workshops for both primary and high school students. Glenn is now excited to be helping teachers develop their own design thinking skills to support student engagement through authentic learning experiences.


 Design Thinking Skills

Target Audience – Primary and Early Secondary

Participants will review the phases of Design Thinking, and improve their understanding of how Design Thinking is represented in the syllabus. Teachers will explore how the design process is essential for STEAM Innovation. Teachers will learn about the four basic shapes of drawing for ideation, and will gain ‘hands on’ experience, using these shapes to ideate. Participants will learn how to use drawing as a learning strategy in their classrooms to improve learner’s visual spatial intelligence
