Kerry Sheehan is currently the Senior Curriculum Inspector and Inspector Science at the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) leading curriculum development in Kindergarten to Year 12. Kerry has supervision responsibilities for the English, Mathematics, Science, Technology Education, Aboriginal Education and Primary Literacy and Numeracy areas at NESA. Kerry has been directly responsible for the development of the new senior secondary Science syllabuses which includes the introduction of two new courses Investigating Science and a Science Extension course for motivated students in Year 12. He has been one of the three Inspectors who worked closely with his Inspector colleagues to strengthen computational thinking and digital technologies in the revision of the new K to 6 Science and Technology syllabus.
