Lila Mularczyk

Lila is currently the Director, Secondary Education, Learning and Teaching Directorate, Department of Education. She has undertaken relieving and acting duties as Executive Director, Leadership and High Performance. Lila’s commitment to education was recognised by being honoured with the Order of Australia Medal (OAM), announced in 2017.

Lila was President of the NSW Secondary Principals’ Council (2012-1016). During her presidency the association was in a most privilege and trusted position with the department, government, unions and external agencies. Lila was the Deputy President of the NSW Secondary Principals’ Council (SPC) for eight years, and an SPC Executive Member for 15 years, working with and for the department, numerous State and Federal Ministers, the media, a variety of external agencies, advisory boards and professional associations. Lila represented NSW education at a National and International level on many occasions.

Lila was principal of Merrylands High School for 15 years until 2016. Merrylands High School has been recognised at a regional, state, national and international level for numerous successful and innovative programs including; leadership, values, professional learning, quality teaching, social harmony, technology rich teaching and learning, and community participation.
